Clubs & Teams 2017-2018
This year Quest is offering several teams and clubs. Please check them out and sign up!
odyssey of the mind
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competitions on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the US and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. For more information check out the website through the link below.
Quest currently has two teams; K-5th and 6th-12th. Check them out on the schedule and if you have any questions feel free to contact the teacher/coach Ginger Maghran at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Several times throughout the year (primarily on weekends) the Quest Hiking Club will organize group hiking trips to some of the most beautiful and scenic locations in southern Arizona. There will be outings for all difficulty levels, from very easy (paved trails) to difficult. All ages are welcome!
Pumpkin Toss Team
The Tucson Pumpkin Toss holds a hurling competition every fall on the University of Arizona mall, using different types of catapults to throw pumpkins for distance and accuracy. Schools from all over Tucson and the surrounding communities design, build and compete against each other. The competition is on a sabbatical this year, but our team is designing and building a brand new machine! If you love designing and engineering devices that can throw things far and accurately, this will be a really fun opportunity for you. If you would like to be a part of this club you will be responsible for helping to design/redesign a catapult or trebuchet that will be used in the competition in the fall of 2018. Designed for middle and high school budding engineers.
This club/team will be mentored by Kurt & Leigh Elkins. Meetings will most likely occur at their home. Contact Leigh Elkins at email@example.com.
If you love to play chess or love to play the game, the Quest for Education and Arts Chess Club is the place for you! Join fellow students and community members for some friendly competition, learning, sportsmanship, practice & fun! All ages and skill levels are welcome. Meeting times will vary depending on the needs of the group.
Come join a team, make new friends, get active and have fun! Two teams are available; a middle school team and a high school team. All skill levels welcome including beginners all the way through advanced. You can even play for more than one team if you are already playing for another school! The Quest Tennis Team will meet twice per week at Greenfields School on Orange Grove and Camino de la Tierra. Mondays and Thursdays from 3-4:30pm starting October 16th and running through Thanksgiving and on Saturdays from 8-10am starting September 16th all semester to keep your game up and improve your skills. We will periodically participate in tournaments during the fall and spring seasons. Coaching provided! Contact Greg Cooke at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and to join.

If you have a passion for videography, writing or photojournalism, we highly encourage you to join the Quest Yearbook/Newspaper Club! Write articles, conduct interviews, and take photos for the Quest Quarterly Newspaper. In addition, you will also take photos of classes and students all year, and at the end of the spring semester, work with your fellow club members to edit and compile the Quest Yearbook. This club is open to 6th-12th grade students. Meeting times will vary, you will report to the club leader with completed articles, etc., when they are finished. Great way to get a fun english credit!

Come join us for a great experience and learn the logisitics of these areas of flight. Get your hands on these great devices and have a chance to launch them yourselves! Club will meet at various times and various locations depending on the activity and the availability of the club members. Meetings will occur every 4-6 weeks during the school year. Available for elementary to high school and activities will be divided by club member age.
