Family Life Director
Ginger Maghran graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science in History/Art. She began her many years of teaching at Valley Christian High School in Phoenix. While at Valley, she explored her love of history by developing unique courses like Russian and South American History. In charge of Student Council and the Varsity Cheer Line, she established close relationships with students and felt God's calling to return to school for a degree in counseling. After graduating from the University of Phoenix with a Masters in Educational Counseling, she moved to Tucson and started counseling at Desert Christian High School following up with 9 years at Amphi and TUSD. While working for TUSD, she established state of the art career centers, district career fairs, job shadowing and True Color programs, and taught for TUSD Continuing Education Program. Leaving teaching for a few years to raise her four kids and help her husband start a computer business, she was still involved by running the Odyssey of the Mind Program for Casas Christian School where her kids attended. Coaching Odyssey of the Mind for over 10 years and 4 World Finals, helped to expand her teaching style to always include "thinking outside the box". Later God pulled her into home-schooling, which she has been enjoying for 10 years. She has also taught at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene as a Sunday School Teacher and Bible Quiz Coach.
For fun, she became involved with Christian Youth Theatre for 8 years running the backstage for the shows and AYCE building sets. Hiking, riding ATV's, reading, spending time with her kids (ages 23, 20, 18, 15) and trying new things (skydiving and backpacking the Grand Canyon) is how she spends her free time. She is passionate about making learning fun and wants all students to enjoy learning by exploring their creative gifts and problem solving skills. She believes in living life to its fullest, being positive and thanking God every day for His many, many blessings!
