2)       NOTE: the Review Packet has extra credit opportuniites that anyone can still do at home.

First we went over the Repaso de español I in detail, giving examples of test questions.

We reviewed all 5 conjugaciones incluyendo ser y estar.

NOTE: Next week is our Written Final. All Extra credit assignments will be returned by that date as well.

Duodécima semana (Twelfth week) – 5 de abril 2017

First we reviewed the homework. 

Then we voted on what the class would showcase for the Fine Arts Festival.

Students then worked with partners to play the Dice Game using el Pretérito.

Lastly, we listened to Lectura 10_Mascotas_mp3 and placed the jumbled sentences in order.

Tarea (Homework):

1)       Write 5 sentences in each conjugación: 5 presente, 5 presente progresivo, 5 futuro, 5 pretérito, 5 ser, y 5 estar. You choose the verbs. For ser and estar you choose the tense also.

NOTE: add adjetivos from the Adjetivos Worksheet and Adverbios y Preposiciones

2)       Complete as much extra credit work as you can. Deadline is April 26th.

First we reviewed the homework. 

Then we learned el Pretérito using the handout: Regular Preterite Verbs.

Students worked with partners to play El Gato using all 6 conjugations: presente, presente progresivo, future, pretértio, ser, y estar.

Lastly, we listened to Lectura9_Trafico_mp3 and placed the jumbled sentences in order. 

Tarea (Homework):

1)       Write 10 conjugaciones en el Pretérito: 3 regular verbs (1-ar, 1-er, 1-ir), 3 irregular/stem-changing verbs (1-ar, 1-er, 1-ir), 3 reflexive verbs (1-ar, 1-er, 1-ir), 1 tú escoges (you choose).

2)       If not done before, write a cuento (story) that has: your 30 oraciones/frases en español, conjugaciones de presente, presente progresivo, futuro, ser y estar, and una traducción en inglés.

3)       Complete as much extra credit work as you can. Deadline is April 26th.

First we learned all the disfraces estudiantes were wearing. We were graced with Kip, Trisha, una gata, una pirate, una nerda, un jugador de golf, una india (indígena), una vaquera, un vaquero, y El Hombre Araña!

We then reviewed oraciones-frases diarias for any corrections.

We finished with un juego: El Gato! This game had us practice our conjugaciones. Muy buen trabajo clase

Tarea (Homework):

1)       Fill out this form: 30_oraciones-frases_en_español  with 30 phrases-sentences that you ARE saying EVERY day! Yes, select from your previous list and fill in any missing with new ones that are daily sayings. We will be doing 2 assignments with this list, so please choose wisely.

2)       Escribe una Plegaría (Oración/Rezo) de 10-15 oraciones. (A 10-15 sentence prayer.)

3)       If you haven´t done so already: complete the 12_Oraciones_Revueltas_8_3_Tarea.

4)       Complete as much extra credit work as you can.

Octava semana (Seventh week) – 8de marzo 2017 CLICK HERE FOR FILES

First we filled out this Español+Worksheet with thesentences/phrases in Spanish that students have been saying daily. 

We finished with 12 Oraciones Revueltas, where student teams worked together to organize cut out Spanish vocabulary into the proper sentences for the English translations given. Muy buen trabajo clase.

1)       Continue adding speaking your 20+ phrases/sentences and adda new one each day beginning on Wednesday, March 8 (miércoles, 8 de marzo) to Tuesday, March 14 (martes, 14 de marzo). So by next class, you will have 27 sentences/phrases! There will be a check of this Español_Worksheet_8-3_to_14-3 filled in or something similar that you create.

2)       Complete the 12_Oraciones_Revueltas_8_3_Tarea.

Séptima semana (Seventh week) – 1º  de marzo 2017

First we reviewed some sentences/phrases in Spanish that students have been adding to their daily log.

Then Esperanza gave her Presentación de Juego. Gracias Esperanza, fuë muy divertido.

We finished with a Competición de Oraciones, where student teams worked together to organize sentences into the proper order for dialogue. Each team also created their own dialogue to cut out and give to the other groups to place in order.

Tarea (Homework):

1)       Continue adding speaking your 13+ phrases/sentences and adda new one each day beginning on Wednesday, March 1 (miércoles, 1o de marzo) to Tuesday, March 7 (martes, 7 de marzo). So by next class, you will have 20 sentences/phrases! There will be a check of this Español Worksheet filled in or something similar to it that you create.

2)       Complete the 6 Jumbled Oraciones on engrade. (10 pts for completing, extra pts=extra credit.

3)       Complete as much extra credit work as you can.

Sexta semana (Sixth week) – 15 de febrero 2017

First the homework and extra credit possibilities were explained. 

Then we finished the Presentaciones de Juegos by all the students present. Gracias Joseph, Paul, Nick, David, Zach S., Grace, Lily, Zach F., Gianna, Mariah, y Thomas por sus presentaciones maravillosas! I do hope all of you had fun!

When we return Esperanza will have her Presentación de Juego.

 

Tarea (Homework):

1)       Each day of the break beginning on Thursday, February 16 (jueves, 16 de febrero) to Tuesday, February 28 (martes, 28 de febrero) speak a sentence or phrase in Spanish. Each day you repeat the previous sentences/phrases and add another one, so by the end of the break you will have 13 sentences/phrases! You will turn in this Español Worksheet filled in something similar to it that you create.

2)       Complete any unfinished work. Wednesday, March 1st will be the final day to turn in late work for a 10% reduction in points. After Wednesday, missing items become zeros.

3)       Complete as much extra credit work as you can.

Then we began the Presentaciones de Juegos by the students. Gracias Andrew, Jake, Jeffrey, y Megan por sus presentaciones maravillosas! I do hope all of you had fun!

Lastly, the homework was explained.

 

Tarea (Homework):

1)     Play a game or more and use at least 10 of the Vocabulario de Juegos 2. Make sure someone signs off and write what you said.

3)   Prepare for your Game Presentations- Presentaciones de Juegos. Next week the rest of the class will be presenting. There will be some peer evaluations and español is to be spoken by all.

Today we started with a class activity of placing Spanish sentences in the order they would be said. ¡Excelente trabajo! This was extra credit. Every week in class we will do a short review activity for extra credit to help maintain what has been learned.

Next we learned the Mandato (Command) Formal (Ud. y Uds.) forms for ar, er and ir verbs.

Then we learned the Future Tense for all verbs.

Lastly, we learned some games and played while practicing our español.

Tarea (Homework):

1)     Escribe 10 oraciones usando el Mandato Formal (Ud. Y Uds.).

2)     Escribe un cuento de 10-15 oraciones usando el tenso futuro

Next we learned about the verb gustar and other verbs that are used in the same way.

Lastly, in teams of 4 we went outside to play “La Bebeleche” after reviewing the rules! A very popular game in many Spanish speaking countries, especially among girls.

1)     Memorize spelling your name (first and last) en español. You never know when I will ask.

2)     Write a 20 sentences using gustar and other verbs like it. are are some Notes on Gustar and a list of Conjugaciones de verbos como gustar. to assist.

Today we reviewed our vocabulario by playing a game with a flachlight. 

Next we went around and recited our conjugated verb of choice.

Then we learned reflexive verb conjugations, see . The Reflexive Verb Conjugation Worksheet

Next, in teams of 3, 7 words were conjugated. 

Those who finished early, thought of some sentences Jeffrey could use on his mission trip to México.

Lastly, we reviewed the sentences for Jeffrey and added some more.

Tarea (Homework):

1)     Memorize spelling your name (first and last) en español. You never know when I will ask.

2)     Write out 5 conjugations using Reflexive verbs. (Remember they end in se). Use . the Reflexive Verb Conjugation Worksheet and the Dice Game worksheet for this.

Cuarta semana (Fourth week) – 4 de octubre 2016

Today we reviewed the Present Tenses of –AR, -ER, and –IR verbs, including the stem-changing rule

Next we played a Dice Game in partners to practice conjugations for extra credit.

Lastly, using El alfabeto each student spelled their first name in Spanish.

 

Tarea (Homework):

1)     Memorize spelling your name (first and last) en español. You will each be tested on this next week.

2)     Play the Dice Game at home and fill out the Juego de verbos worksheet. Ignore the 5th column (tiro 3).

3)     Select 5 of your conjugations on the worksheet and write a full sentence using it. For example1-hablar-1-yo-hablo   Yo hablo español.

4)     Study El alfabeto there will be a dictation quiz at the end of every class for extra credit.

5)      Study the list of common Greetings we reviewed in class-I will begin to use these each day in class.

Tercera semana (Third week) – 27 de septiembre 2016

Hope you enjoyed your day and are ready to start using your Spanish as we learn more each week!

Today we took our first in-class quiz on Spanish false friends and the vocabulario you tagged in the classroom.

We then reviewed El alfabeto in Spanish. We practiced using this knowledge with a short dictation quiz for extra credit. 

Lastly, we learned the Stem Changing Rules for the Present Tense conjugations of –ar, -er, and –ir verbs!

Tarea (Homework):

1)     Memorize spelling your name (first and last) en español. You will each be tested on this next week.

2)     Write 5—ar, 5 –er, and 5-ir conjugations using Stem Changing Verbs. There is a list of verbs in the Dice Game worksheet.

3)   You may use this practice_conjugation_sheet for the conjugation homework.      

4)     Study El alfabeto there will be a dictation quiz at the end of every class for extra credit.

5)      Continue studying your list of vocabulario that you tagged in the classroom & the list of Spanish false friends– there may be a pop QUIZ on this next week!

6)     Study the list of common Greetings we reviewed in class-I will begin to use these each day in class.

Segunda semana (Second week) – 20 de septiembre 2016

Today we reviewed our vocabulary from last week using a fun juego (game). False friends were introduced, which led to a discussion on Accent rules. The Greetings were discussed and the Present Tense of –ar, -er, and –ir verbs was taught!

 

Tarea (Homework):

1)      Study the list of vocabulario you tagged in the classroom & the list of Spanish false friends – there will be a QUIZ on this next week!

2)      Study the list of common Greetings we reviewed in class-I will begin to use these each day in class.

3)      Write out 30 conjugations: 10 using –ar verbs, 10 using –er verbs, and 10 using –ir verbs. Here are the the ar Verb Conjugation Worksheet and the -er and -ir Verb Conjugation Worksheet. You may use this practice_conjugation_sheet for the conjugation homework.
